Do you know that over 95% of the people who start a home based business or join a Network Marketing company fail to create the financial freedom they dream of? Do you know that online fraud continues to be a growing and costly experience for all online merchants. Unfortunately, its true.

This doesnt mean that you cannot have your own successful home business... while shopping securely online for your daily needs! Consider the following facts before deciding to go shopping and/or starting a home based business...

Is shopping online secure?

When shopping on the Internet there are many things to consider, following are some guidelines to keep your experiences a positive one.

Things to consider for calculating total cost when you shop offline: <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

-         shipping charges

-         gasoline required to travel to and back from a brick and mortar store, especially when looking for bargains, stop off at more than two stores for price comparison

-         you go there but your item isnt in stock

-         consideration of time to identify and locate the specific item(s) in the store.

In my opinion online shopping is green, ecological, faster and even secure, if you choose the right place to shop online! Many people still hold on to the idea that online shopping is risky; however with the implementation of a number of encryption techniques, your personal and credit card information is quite secure.

Tips to protect yourself while shopping online:

Use a secure server - use companies you know - anyone can open a store online in minutes and be gone tomorrow.

Make sure there is contact information for the company (business name, address, and telephone number).

     Check for a return policy.

Check to see if there has been complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and the National Association of Attorney Generals.

Compare prices: if the price is too low there may be something wrong like it is used or it may be a bait and switch deal.

Use a credit card - don't use debit cards to shop online - they don't offer the protection of the Fair Credit Billing Act which protects you.

Consider calling in the order - if you don't feel comfortable entering your credit card information online, then call the company and place your order.

Print and keep information about your order - print out information on your order when you place it and keep the copies. Also print out other information you may need such as return policies, company information, specific product information and warranty information.

Use secure passwords- learn how to create a secure password that isn't easily hacked.

Who is shopping online?

College age and young adults with the age of
18 to 24 spend more time online than any other age group. They purchase more things online, and they spend more money online than anyone else. They are a key part of what generated around 200 Billion dollars spent on Internet shopping in 2006!

Women do more online shopping than men. And women are responsible for three-fourths of the purchases made online. The fact: Women are the power behind online shopping! What that means to me is that women should be able to benefit from what has been created for shopping online.

You probably already know all this. What you may not know is that there are few good programs online that harness the power of online spending to create financial freedom. Ill write about at least one of them later in this article.

Where do I go to shop for many items?

Many e-commerce sites are pretty specialized, in as much as they offer a comprehensive selection of the type of merchandise they specialize in. Although these stores often have the most competitive prices they might not be your best choice when shopping for many different items, that's where your Internet malls and department stores might be a better choice.

Go shopping for your daily needs and dont spend but earn money!

During my long research online I have found few good businesses that are very simple, and can be done in conjunction with anything else you are doing to generate financial freedom. And you dont have to leave your work team, or go away from your current company. There are ways to create multiple streams of income and later decide to quit or not your actual job.

The good news is that a new company has just launched and is growing very fast. Whether you are part of the 95% who fail online or the 5% who win, you will want to find out about this shopping and at the same time - business opportunity. Its not MLM and its not an affiliate program. My Power Mall gives you a shopping mall and a website, without the pain of having to pay any fees.

My Power Mall makes a difference by devoting a percentage of its corporate profits to helping children through its "One-Child-At-A-Time" program. Be a contributor to this worthwhile cause and also make money simply by doing what you do anyway - shopping for the needs of your family.

To your shopping and business experience success!
