So you want to start a home based business on the Internet? Congratulations! It's a great idea and here's why. The Internet has become a gigantic global marketplace of over 1.2 billion users with 234 million in North America alone. Significantly, 2/3 of all Internet users are online shoppers.

So you'll never run out of customers. But there's more. You don't need thousands of dollars to start your online business as you would a traditional brick and mortar store. People have built fortunes on the Internet with little more than fifty bucks and a winning idea. As an example, you can spend, say, $50-$100/month on web hosting and advertising while making ten times that amount.

Can you think of any other industry where profit exceeds expenses on such a level? Except, perhaps the oil and pharmaceuticals industries. No wonder someone starts a home based business on the Internet every 11 minutes! Whether your goal is to make extra money to supplement your paycheck, or, make enough to replace your full-time job, or, save for your retirement, or, spend more time with your loved ones, marketing online is still one of the most effective ways of achieving your goals. It is also the quickest way.

But what does it take to succeed in this business? Well, if you made a delicious hamburger, what would you need to succeed in making great money? Why, a crowd of hungry people, of course! Similarly, success in your home based business depends on finding a hot product or opportunity and then sending a crowd of hungry customers to a web site where your product is featured.

So, do you need to be a techno-wiz to do all of this? Not at all. But you do need to master a few basic skills and tools. In fact, if you've come this far in your search, you probably have what it takes to be successful in starting a home based business on the Internet. But what are these skills and tools and how can you acquire them without spending a fortune and without spinning your wheels?
